FALL PROTECTION COMPETENT PERSON
This course is a brief but comprehensive overview of fall
protection in construction industry. It covers the employer's
duties to provide the correct type of fall protection or fall
arrest equipment for employees. The course looks at the OSHA
Standards (29 CFR 1926.500 and the proper practices for the
installation and use of fall protection on the job. The
fundamentals of personal fall-arrest systems, roof systems,
anchorage, lanyards, horizontal lifelines, self-retracting
lifelines and many other systems are reviewed. Safe practices
prior to beginning a job are stressed as well as "competent
person' issues in performing safety checks for those persons
working above required heights.
